Camino de Santiago en Castilla y León, Spain
The route of the French Way through Spain is more than 750 km long, and approximately 400 km passes through the Community of Castile and Leon. Throughout the march, we can find various landscapes, from immense cereal fields to small valleys, passing through moors, plateaus, and beautiful views from the highlands.
From a cultural point of view, the pilgrim will find a vast heritage from very different periods: from the prehistoric sites of Atapuerca to the Museum of Contemporary Art of Leon, passing through all the artistic styles you can imagine: Celtic Castro, Roman villas, Romanesque churches, Gothic cathedrals, Renaissance palaces.
Although many roads lead to Santiago, the most common is the French Way, used by 63.37% of the pilgrims in 2016 (176,075).
